Tower Federal Credit Union Launches New Pennies for Change Program to Help Local Military Heroes and Children in Need
Tower FCU will donate up to $250,000 to the TowerCares Foundation in 2021 through the credit union’s new Pennies for Change program.
[Laurel, MD] – Tower Federal Credit Union announces the launch of a new philanthropic initiative, Pennies for Change. In 2021, Tower will donate up to $250,000 to the TowerCares Foundation through the Pennies for Change program.
“Since our inception, Tower has been committed to giving back to the communities we serve,” says Richard Stafford, Tower’s President and CEO. “I am thrilled to introduce Pennies for Change, which will support the TowerCares Foundation and directly help local active military, DOD employees, Veterans and children in need.”
The TowerCares Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization founded by Tower Federal Credit Union in 2015 to support children in need, as well as brave and heroic individuals and their families who sacrificed while protecting our freedom.
Through the new Pennies for Change program, Tower will donate one cent to the TowerCares Foundation every time a Tower member uses their Tower debit card or credit card, both in-store and online.
“During our inaugural year, we fully expect to meet our $250,000 donation goal based on the millions of card transactions by Tower members,” Stafford says. “All those pennies will add up to make a big impact, and will go a long way towards helping our local military heroes and children in need.”
Over the past six years, the TowerCares Foundation has provided close to one million dollars in grants, donations and scholarships to 58 charitable organizations.
“From fighting Veteran homelessness to providing medical care for critically ill children to awarding scholarships for military spouses, the TowerCares Foundation has helped provide a better quality of life for thousands of individuals and families in our community,” Stafford says. “The new Pennies for Change program will help support the great work that the Foundation is doing, and I hope will give our members a sense of pride every time they use their Tower card.”
