Serve Our Willing Warriors

Serve Our Willing Warriors provides free programs and retreats for wounded, ill and injured service members, disabled Veterans, and their families. The TowerCares grant will support the Moral Injury Program, which provides support for Veterans, military families, and first responders struggling with psychological and emotional wounds. Serve Our Willing Warriors is partnering with Patriot Point, a TowerCares charity partner, to offer two-day retreats serving 20 people each that foster emotional resilience through education and therapeutic support.

The Parent’s Place

The Parent’s Place mission is to partner with and empower families to improve the education and health outcomes for all children with disabilities and special healthcare needs. The TowerCares grant will support The Parent’s Place 5th Annual Virtual Wrightslaw Special Education Law & Advocacy Conference and Training. This event empowers families, educators, and advocates with the knowledge and tools necessary to navigate the complexities of special education law and effectively advocate for children with disabilities. The funds will provide ten scholarships for military families in the Baltimore/Washington corridor to attend the conference.

Naval Academy Primary and Secondary School

The Naval Academy Primary and Secondary Schools (NAPS) mission is to focus on the intellectual, physical, emotional, and social development of children from Annapolis, Maryland and the surrounding communities. NAPS provides a structured and nurturing environment that recognizes and acts upon each child’s unique needs and circumstances. The TowerCares grant will support STEM Lego Education, to enhance Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) learning through interactive, hands-on play in the school’s pre-K and kindergarten classes. Over 85% of children attending NAPS are from military families. The funds will provide STEM Lego packs for 150 students.

The National Center for Children and Families

The National Center for Children and Families mission is to create healthy living environments for vulnerable children, youth and families, and to improve their quality of life, empowering them to thrive and live responsibly. The TowerCares grant will support The Neediest Kids program, which ensures students in need have the necessary resources to achieve success in the classroom. Items provided include clothing, shoes, school supplies, toys, home goods, diapers, groceries, and vision care. The funds will be used to support low-income students and their families in Montgomery and Prince George’s Counties facing food insecurity by providing grocery gift cards for 50 families.

Maryland Veterans Trust Fund

The Maryland Veterans Trust Fund helps lead Veterans, service members, and their families through life’s transitions by providing financial assistance and referral services during times of temporary crisis. The TowerCares grant will help provide financial assistance to Maryland’s Veterans and active-duty military who are experiencing temporary financial needs such as mortgage, rent, car ownership expenses, and utilities.

Elizabeth Dole Foundation

The Elizabeth Dole Foundation was founded in 2012 by U.S. Senator Elizabeth Dole to empower military and Veteran caregivers, their families, and their communities through programs, partnerships, and advocacy that drive innovation and sustainable solutions. The TowerCares grant will be used to assist the Foundation’s programs supporting military, Veterans, and caregivers.

Defense Intelligence Memorial Foundation

The mission of the Defense Intelligence Memorial Foundation (DIMF) is to honor the fallen officers of the Defense Intelligence Enterprise through scholarships and philanthropy. The TowerCares grant will support the DIMF Scholarship Program, which provides scholarships for the children of defense intelligence professionals who have made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty. The funds will be used to pay tuition, as well as room and board.

Baltimore Area Council Scouting America

The mission of Scouting America is to prepare young people for lives of impact and purpose. The TowerCares grant will support Scoutreach Day Camp, which focuses on making scouting accessible to youth in underserved communities and aims to remove barriers that prevent young people from participating in scouting. The funds will be used for registration costs, transportation, and lunch for at least five Scoutreach participants to attend the camp.

Arts Every Day

The mission of Arts Every Day is to provide art instruction and activities for students in Baltimore City Public Schools. The TowerCares grant will support the Arts Experiences Fund, which provides public schools in Baltimore City, Maryland with funding for students to experience the arts at cultural institutions. The funds will help provide engaging art field trips or interactive in-school arts assemblies for at least 1,000 Baltimore City students.

Fello

The mission of Fello is to support people with disabilities to live the lives they choose by creating opportunities, promoting respect and equity, and fostering inclusion in their communities. The TowerCares grant will support Fello’s Family Fund Grant, which provides access to specialized equipment and services not covered by insurance. The funds will be used to provide critical financial assistance for families to meet the essential needs for the well-being and development of children with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
